About Me

My photo
Jim Benz
My primary interests concern post-structural approaches to the written word, focusing on experimental applications of tone, syntax, and metonymic reference as contextualized elements of unconscious, non-rational behaviors in human social and literary experience, while also keeping in mind that the verity, relevance, and coherence of the preceding statement might be contestable. I also like long sentences.

Why this blog?

Besides the fact that it forces me to articulate personal thoughts about poetics, art and literary culture, this blog also provides an opportunity to vigorously explore the work of lesser-known poets and journals freely available via the internet. In other words, this is an outlet for my own cheaply acquired opinions and tastes - much of which will be expressed in long-winded prose of questionable merit. So be it.
